What do we carry away from workshops?

It is observed many workshops are held worldwide, and every school plans to attend or arrange for teachers workshops or principals workshops in the field of education to learn something new, to remain connected with new developments.
Every workshop has a defined topic, defined objective, it has break for networking, but have we ever observed and analyzed how effectively we utilize our time and learning from the workshops. How many a times we cascade the information to our peers. We at AVAS has brought workshops for the teachers of the school, under one roof celebrating National Maths Week, every year at I.I.T , Delhi.

 The great resource persons with vast experience in their respective fields get connected under one  roof:

They have great passion about the subject and bring out innovative ways to learn and teach mathematics to children. There were nearly 110 teachers from different prestigious schools who attended this workshop, followed by panel discussion on the topic “Relevance of Vedic Mathematics in school Curriculum” discussion initiated by renowned personality, our keynote speaker, Prof G.D. Dhall and Prof S.N. Chhibber.
The group of 50 students from various schools also attended this workshop followed by a presentation showcase by each student on “Any great Indian Mathematician”. It was planned to inculcate the self study skills, presentation skills and speaking skills in children.
During workshops each teacher is given material to perform hands on activity in workshops and are given study material to be shared with peers and to be kept in school library for future reference, also they are given a feedback form to share inputs for further more improvements in upcoming events. We were given a feedback to provide in house workshops on ABACUS and VEDIC MATHS in respective schools. During our workshops, each teacher is given a worksheet to further apply the learning from workshop, each teacher is given a study material kit and manual for future reference.

We have delivered teachers workshop in National Mathematical Movement organized by NCSTC & Department of Science and Technology, conducted in SD public School, Pitampura. We delivered workshops on Abacus, Vedic Maths, and  Rubik’s Cube. We have also delivered teachers workshops in Air Force Bal Bharti Public School, CSKM,, Bhatnagar Intl, Bosoc Public School, Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, NC Jindal, Vandana Intl, Salwan Public School and many other schools.
